Email from the EPA Project Manager regarding Project Kickoff Meeting in Atlanta Organized and Facilitated by ANAMAR
I wanted to thank you all again for a very productive meeting on Wednesday. I think that may have been the most productive day-long meeting I've been in with the Corps. It was well planned, organized and run. So often I'm at meetings where the right people aren't available to make decisions or provide information. It was nice to have the right mix of expertise and decision makers there. It was also nice that we were kept on task and on schedule so that all the goals and objectives of the meeting were met. It bodes well for success for this project. It is an excellent way to start the process and I look forward to seeing the minutes and other work products. - CM

Email from the Project Manager, USACE-Wilmington
Nadia, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate ANAMAR’s outstanding work on the hard bottom resource confirmation and characterization study associated with the Surf City and North Topsail Beach, NC, Shore Protection Project. Most importantly, I appreciate you accommodating the short notice to proceed (under difficult weather conditions), your participation in meetings with short notice, and your finishing the job ahead of schedule. USACE Charleston District Performance Review
RE: Indefinite Delivery Contract for Professional Services for Obtaining and Analyzing Sediment Samples, Water Samples, and Bioassay Samples for Civil Works Activities for the Jacksonville District [USACE].
I would like to take this time to thank ANAMAR for their outstanding work for the Charleston District [USACE].ANAMAR has proven to be a professional organization. Thank you for your technical expertise and outstanding safely practices in the field. Thank you for your assistance with the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) studies in Georgetown [S.C.]. Your outstanding knowledge of dredge material management and Section 103 regulations was extremely helpful.
I also appreciate the opportunity to co-author a publication for the Western Dredging Association with ANAMAR. Your company expresses such dedication and is very knowledgeable with the latest technology. It is refreshing to see small companies taking such an interest and being in the forefront of what is happening with our industry. The industry needs more such involvement from small companies which realize the value of spending what may be significant resources on industry participation and, equally as important, the value of sharing their expertise and knowledge through publications, conferences, and seminars.
I have enjoyed working with your knowledgeable and friendly staff and look forward to more opportunities in the future. - PP
Brunswick Harbor Section 103 Evaluation
Email from the Project Manager, USACE Savannah District
This email is to express my appreciation for ANAMAR’s so far outstanding work on the Brunswick Harbor Project. Your ability to begin field work with extremely short notice around the Christmas/New Year’s break provided an especially important service to the COE, Savannah District, because of our agreement with EPA that all the dredged material be sampled before the new maintenance dredging operation started. ANAMAR's ability to quickly discern the intricate requirements in the SOW allowed us to obtain concurrence from EPA quickly. ANAMAR’s ability to mobilize only a few days after receiving notice to proceed (including a tight window of workable weather) on this large and complex Section 103 investigation requiring grab sampling and vibracoring core lengths with penetration over 10 feet and in inclement weather conditions was especially noteworthy and greatly appreciated.
I also appreciate the ANAMAR field crew’s outstanding understanding of the importance of recognizing differences in physical characteristics of dredge material, their ability to recognize such differences, and their awareness of the importance of these differences in dredge material management and exclusionary exemptions. ANAMAR's effective and timely communications on sampling operations and recommended changes and additions to the sampling plan while in the field have laid a solid foundation to help ensure the success of this project. - SC

National Dredging Team Meeting Facilitation
Feedback from Client:
Deb F. from ERG called to say that the EPA Branch Chief was very pleased with the meeting facilitation and meeting minutes that ANAMAR provided last year. She said that she also got positive feedback from several other meeting attendees and that the regional/national dredging teams may be meeting this year. If so, ERG will be calling us [ANAMAR] to help facilitate this meeting as well.
Email from EPA:
ANAMAR did great work on these [presentation] summaries and during the meeting.
Letters of Recommendation and Appreciation
Bill H., Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company
We have had the opportunity to work with and around ANAMAR for several years on a variety of dredging issues. We appreciate your professional approach to the challenges our industry faces, particularly on the ever important environmental testing side. Your willingness to listen to clients’ concerns and ability to understand those concerns as well as to seek input from others in the business like dredgers has generated mutual benefit and advanced the overall state of the industry.
In addition to outstanding workmanship, you have participated in other important ways to advance the reputation of the dredging industry. By participating in WEDA conferences, presenting technical papers, and addressing environmental testing concerns in public forums even with port associations, ANAMAR has not only distinguished themselves, but helped to make more sense out of a misunderstood industry. ANAMAR is a small business that has proven itself to be as capable as any large business.
George T., PBS&J
PBS&J contracted ANAMAR to conduct soil and sediment coring and surface water sampling as part of a field investigation for the Sawgrass Lake Site Restoration Project in St. Petersburg, Florida. This project presented some very unique environs from which to work within. The technical considerations necessary to complete this project required a high degree of understanding and adaptability. The Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) was very complicated with many different objectives and rationales.
It was soon clear to us at PBS&J that your professionals, starting with the Project Leader and down to the field staff, took the time to fully understand the scope of work and SAP prior to going to the field. They coordinated and communicated very well with the PBS&J’s Project Managers and the laboratory staff throughout the project to ensure the sampling was executed according to the SAP. Their attention to detail and time spent preparing for the sampling effort was integral to completing the sampling ahead of schedule and within budget.
Aside from being incredibly personable, I found your staff to be very organized, knowledgeable, efficient, and innovative. They were extremely conscientious with regard to following correct sampling protocols, QA/QC protocols, and decontamination procedures. They worked well under difficult field conditions and took safety very seriously. They kept detailed field notes and were able to properly keep track of sample custody and requested analyses. I greatly enjoyed working with ANAMAR and would highly recommend this firm to perform any work for which it is qualified. - GT
Jeanne A., Canaveral Port Authority
As a contractor/subcontractor to Port Canaveral since 2002, ANAMAR.. Environmental Consulting, Inc. has successfully managed and executed several Dredged Sediment Management Projects on time and within budget. ANAMAR's expertise and attention to detail is evident in every phase of the project including project planning and management, sample collection, data review and management, and final report production. I find their staff to be responsive, resourceful, well organized, and adaptive to changes in the scope of work. In some instances, ANAMAR has provided the Port with suggestions or ideas that have resulted in the saving of time and/or money. The staff understands and adheres to strict standard operating procedures for the collection of water and sediment samples, which is vitally important to obtaining EPA permits.
ANAMAR has consistently provided the Port with high quality service. The final reports are professional and well written with data compiled and presented in organized, easy-to-read tables and figures. Reports are always provided to us in hardcopy and electronic formats. I would recommend ANAMAR Environmental Consulting, Inc. to perform any work for which it is qualified. - JA
Louis M., SRWMD
I wish to express my appreciation regarding the level of professionalism provided by ANAMAR in application for Environmental Resource Permits reviewed by the Suwannee River Water Management District (District). The District is experiencing an unprecedented volume of permit applications, requiring an efficient review process to meet statutory deadlines and to provide satisfactory public service. Efficient review has been significantly facilitated by ANAMAR's comprehensive application submittals. ANAMAR employees have also been most helpful during field evaluations. They have assisted in my knowledge and understanding of natural systems, and are sincere in their efforts to integrate regulatory and development concerns that ultimately result in responsible resource protection. - LM
Betsy B. and Sally Y., Battelle
Nadia – Here’s the message I received about the 180-day performance review for the District. ANAMAR’s work also contributed toward making this rating possible. Thank you very much. Please share this with your staff. We look forward to continuing to work with ANAMAR on this project and others. - BB
To the QAQC Team: Congratulations and THANK YOU!! You received 4.625 rating (out of 5.0) from the SFWMD on your 180 day performance review for the [South Florida Water Management] District QAQC project. This is really fantastic. It is one of the highest ratings we have received in the past three years. It could not have come at a better time, particularly as we are about to re-bid our Science Contract with the District. I will fax it around to all of you on Monday. But bottom line, this is really good for Battelle and really helps in how the District views us overall. Thanks!! -SY
