ANAMAR has a highly qualified, close-knit team of scientists and engineers with various areas of expertise. This diversification of skills and knowledge is integral to our success and ensures that each project is approached from various perspectives. It also allows us to provide our clients with a project-specific team of professionals that is especially suited for their particular needs. Each scientist has experience in project design and management and has organized and supervised many field efforts.

Below is a short profile for each of our principals, project managers, and other key staff.

Nadia Lombardero, M.S. - President
Ms. Lombardero is ANAMAR's owner and President. She has been working with various governmental agencies and managing a variety of large, complex environmental projects since 1991. She has a B.S. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University and an M.S. in Analytical Chemistry and Toxicology from the University of Florida. Her areas of expertise include sediment chemistry and toxicology, organic chemistry, QA/QC protocols, business administration and business development, project management, laboratory and field audits, and analytical data interpretation.

Terence L. Cake, MBA, P.E. - Vice President
Mr. Cake is the Vice President of ANAMAR. He has been working in the fields of water resources, environmental engineering, and permitting with federal, state, and local agencies since 1992. He has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from Colorado State University. His areas of specialization include hydrology, surface water quality, environmental biology, design of water and wastewater treatment plants, and project management.

Michelle E. Rau, M.S., P.W.S. - Project Manager/Ecologist
Ms. Rau is a senior Project Manager and Ecologist. She has been with ANAMAR since 2002 and has worked in the field of environmental science since 1992.  She has a B.S. in Natural Resource Conservation and an M.S. in Soil and Water Science, both from the University of Florida. She has a broad range of academic and professional experience in wetland ecology, water quality, soil science, wildlife ecology, plant taxonomy, field sampling methods, technical writing, and meeting organization and facilitation.  

Christine T. Smith, B.A. - GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist/Project Manager
Ms. Smith coordinates spatial data collection, management, interpretation, and analysis for dredging, ecological, and engineering projects. She is proficient with a range of software and hardware, including SonarWiz.MAP + Subbottom Profiling, ArcGIS, Hypack/Hysweep, Erdas IMAGINE, Differential GPS systems, Edgetech Discover, MarineSonics Seascan, Klein SonarPro, and SDSFIE software, allowing her to manage data over the life of an entire project from collecting data to submitting Spatial Data Standards-compliant geodatabases. Ms. Smith gained experience in marine remote sensing and data management during her tenure at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (formerly Florida Marine Research Institute's Coastal and Marine Resources Department), incorporating GIS vector data with multibeam bathymetry data of the Florida Middle Grounds. She has served in multiple capacities from survey design to field verification of benthic habitat surveys.

Jason C. Seitz, M.S. - Biologist/Project Manager
Mr. Seitz is a biological scientist with professional experience in Florida since 1995 and has held positions with Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Florida Museum of Natural History, county government, and private consulting firms. Mr. Seitz holds an A.A.S. in Fisheries Technology from SUNY Cobleskill and a B.S. in Biology & Aquatic Ecology from SUNY Brockport. He is currently completing a M.S. in Environmental Science at the University of Florida. His areas of specialization include fish biology, invasive species management, endangered species management, wetland ecology, wetland mitigation, soil science, and technical writing. Mr. Seitz has published studies in regional and international journals (available upon request).

Paul Berman, B.S - QA Officer/Staff Scientist
Mr. Berman has a degree in mathematics from the University of Florida. He worked in an environmental laboratory from 1986 until 2008, when he joined the staff at ANAMAR full time. He has extensive knowledge and experience in water quality testing, data review and validation, quality assurance/quality control, laboratory standard operating procedures, laboratory auditing, and environmental regulations.

Constance M. Steen - Office/HR Manager and Safety Officer
Ms. Steen has been working in the field of environmental consulting since 1977. She specializes in client services, office management and administration, project assistance, editing, document production, human resources, and safety.

Rebeca Denahan - Controller
Ms. Denahan has a background in financial management and business. She holds an A.A.S. in Business Administration and numerous certificate degrees, such as Business Management, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, and Human Resources. She has refined our accounting procedures and implemented new corporate financial management systems and has devised a new-project set-up to facilitate budget tracking and management. She oversees financial aspects within the company and with client contracts, and has successfully managed financial operations through DCAA audits. Additionally, Ms. Denahan's proficiency in Spanish and French is used for document translation and to facilitate client relations.

Joseph B. Cake – IT Manager
Mr. Cake has a Network Service Technology Degree and is responsible for all aspects of information technology, including purchase, installation, and maintenance of all computers, hardware, and software company-wide. He has been instrumental in customizing our project management software, CRM, and is intimately acquainted with its operations and interfaces with other in-house software. Jody is knowledgeable about ANAMAR’s field electronics and he assists with producing electronic data and reports.  Duties also include interacting with IT-related vendors, such as the telephone company, copier provider, and AVAYA office telephone system.
