ANAMAR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING seeks to work with team-oriented and production-focused entry-level technicians to join our Alachua, Florida, Office. This professional will be part of the field team, which is responsible for managing sediment characterizations and other environmental projects, permitting, and field operations.


Role and Responsibilities

Intern Field Technician:

  • Serve as a field team member for projects.
  • Participate in field Operations; and communicate in written and verbal forms colleauges.
  • Collect sediment and water samples and field data using specialized equipment and tools while working from a boat and/or on land in various weather conditions.
  • Adhere to health and safety plans, field sampling plans, and QAPPs.
  • Execute field sampling efforts using appropriate and approved sampling methods and safety protocols.
  • Enter sediment, elutriate, water, bioassay, and tissue chemistry data into tables under supervision.

Administration:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools.
  • Operate basic office equipment (company computers, copiers, printers, etc.)
  • Adhere to safety culture

  • Required vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Physically navigate the deck of vessels, barges, and small watercraft, day or night, during all seasons of the year, in all conditions of weather including extremes of heat and cold.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and interact professionally with co-workers, clients, prospective clients, and sub-contractors.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as geology, toxicology, biology, ecology, or chemistry

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced degree in a related science-based field
  • CDL certification and/or experience driving large vehicles in confined areas
  • Experience working on large-scale navigation improvement and dredged material management projects
