The US Army Corps, Portland District contracted ANAMAR to conduct sediment characterizations of five Federal Navigation Channels on the Oregon Coast to determine the suitability of the material.

Per the Clean Water Act and Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act regulations, the USACE must routinely characterize navigation channel sediments to support maintenance dredging and dredged material disposal operations. Under this contract, ANAMAR conducted sediment sampling and analysis in accordance with the Sediment Evaluation Framework for the Pacific Northwest ([SEF] NWRSET, 2018).
USACE Portland contracted ANAMAR for sediment sampling, laboratory analytical services, dredged material fate analysis, technical reporting, and data entry services at the following project locations:
• Lower Willamette River federal navigation channel, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon
• Oregon Slough deep draft federal side channel, Portland, Multnomah County Oregon
• Tillamook Bay, Garibaldi, Tillamook County, Oregon
• Yaquina Bay federal navigation channel, South Beach Marina access channel, and Depot Slough
federal side channel, Newport and Toledo, Lincoln County, Oregon
• Coos Bay federal navigation channel, Coos Bay, Coos County, Oregon
